Putting gas in my 79 GMC k1500 reg cab long box when this guy comes over and states, he has a "good hood", $20.00.

I am in a hurry and say so, then he says, actually I have a complete front clip off a 73 Suburban and another hood, but don't know the year. $20.00 for all!

I am in a hurry and my pickup box is loaded, so I get his # an leave.

So...will a 73 burb clip fit a 79 pickup?

I don't mind my dented old truck as it is, but this would be hard to pass up if it fits.
Thanks

73-80 then 81-91

so yes 73 on your 79 = yep.

fust a few headlight bezel and grill changes but not bad to figure out.

20 bucks sounds great if half way decent shape.

It's worth more than $20 in scrap value...total no brainer even if you don't need it at all.

Well a update.

The hood is perfect and recently primed! He also has another one, (black), with a very small rust spot on the front cover.

The front clip is 2-tone red/white (Silverado) and in great shape, only rust noticed was under the trim around the wheel well and just a light surface rust, no dents!

All for $20.00!!!

I'm going later this week to pick them up.

Couple of questions;

Will the front clip fit in the pickup box easily?
Can 2 guys lift it in there?
Should I just rent a trailer?

Thanks

sideways yes.

to decent guys can man handle it o.k. if got a buddy to help make it 3 thats best.

if trailer cheep / easy great but not needed.
