Man Im still impressed, after owning 2 CJ`s 3 FJ40ies,5 XJ`s 4 Toyota 4wd`s,one a trecker a 4runner,Lord knows how many other various 4wd trucks and 3 other K5`s these kick arse. I have a test track of sorts that has hill climbs, rocks, bolders, soft sand dunes,no mud I admit( I hate mud). for 20 years for sheets and giggles Ive run all of em the same way just to compare what each is capable of. Not to bash but the last TJ was the most uncapable and unable to complete the course even after adding a rear locker and lift, next in line the 78 CJ5 with some mods.
This thing with open diffs a 3.5" rancho and BFG 33`s does it all. Only once did I have to reposition up some rocks. Id lay my pink down against a Heep with like equiptment that a K5 can open a can of whoop arse on it on it. I could have bought 10 K5`s for what I had invested in that TJ.... what was I thinking.

glad u learned the errors of your ways.lol.welcome to the k5 club

When I used to wheel with a local club I'd almost alwyas end up wheeling behind a fairly modified TJ. He'd struggle up something, and then I'd crawl right up the same line. For the trails around here a little more wheelbase and alittle more trackwidth made all the difference.

a few years a go my dad bought a 95 jeep yj for a parts vechicle, i ended up just using it as a beater to cruise around our property with and let me tell you that thing has put up with some extreme abuse, from constant revlimiter to catching 3+ feet of air and the thing keeps kicking... he always jokes and says its the best 200 dollars he's ever spent and i always agree, me and my friends have had more fun in that little yj than anyone could have playing a video-game

i did the same thing with a 50 dollar plymoth belvidere when i was a kid.engine had cracked heads but if you kept up with the fluids it would run pretty damn well.we played dukes of hazard many times in that old beater.i still sold it for 50 bucks again and made my money back when i left for the army.lol.best 50 bucks i ever spent.
