You don't want nitrous unless you want to wreck your truck from what I've gathered /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Where did you here that? If you mean plowing into a wall or going flying off a cliff...you don't need nitrous to do that. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

On a stock motor nitrous is not exactly a very good idea especially on our older motors. I know a lot of people running lots of nitrous on stock motors but I think most of the newer motors seem to take it better. Basically you need to build a motor with special parts that are designed to take the extreme tempature changes that occure when the NO2 starts flowing. Forged pistons are necassary with a decent shot or it will eventually crack a cast piston. Rods and crank should aso be forged too but a lot of people not running really big shots run a stock bottom end, SBC rods and crank are actually pretty stout pieces.

I do! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Depends on your definition of cheap too. For me, if I was looking to add some power to my rig, I would do intake, headers, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, a tune up (FIRST), and if it needs it, rebuild the carb. That would be a really good start. Then from there if you are still power hungry, cam and heads. Just keep in mind what you goals are and build for that. Make sure what you putting on your motor is going to be compatible. You wouldn't want a dual tunnel ram with 1000 cfm holley's and an rv cam. Well, I wouldn't. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Make sure everything is gonna work together and you'll be good to go!

Sorry, yes your right, but your truck should be built for it if you want it

Roller tip rockers , reduces friction, 1.6 ratio. Cheap set is around 116.00 for older motors. Emissions legal cam or at least a step or two over stock to make use of the exhaust you put on. Could probably find the whole kit with lifters for not much. For that matter most aftermarket stock type cams make more power than the stock one. Run some kind of tubing to air cleaner instead of sucking in underhood air, cooler air makes a denser charge, which equals more power . You could also run a better coil and gap your plugs larger. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
