Buddyof mine and I were shopping for a project wheeler for him. Found this old rusty heap for 100 bucks!
1979 or 1980 mfg date is 12/79 3/4 ton truck
D44 and a 14bff for a c note . minus whatever we can sell for scrap or part out.
Not much left on it really in good shape. 203 t case and probably a 350 or 400 transmission. motor is junk , might be a decent core. Tool box probably worth 50 to someone on CL.
If your close to wichita,ks and need something off of it I can see if its worth saving.
Interesting door speaker pods. never seen those before.

That's a 10b front, not a D44.

Great score though! You could bring it straight to scrap and make a couple hundred doing nothing.

good catch it is a corp 10 I hadnt paid attention , ty
was told it was a 44 and went with it.lol

Excellent score!!

If you part it, I may be interested in the grille and headlamp bezels. :ears:

The speaker pods were available in '80 only. I accidentally let a pair of those get scrapped a few years ago and have been looking for another pair

You sure it's a 203? If its an '80 and the t-case is original, it's a 205. The 205 was the only t-case available in '80.

Either way, nice score.

If mfg date is 12/79 its considered an 80. T-case looks like a slipyoke np205 which is what would be in an 80 but I cant really tell. It does have lock-outs on the hubs though.

Nice score though. I love finding deals like that.

we havent spent any time looking to it. just got it off the trailer. It could be a 205 . again i was " told" it was a 203. he was mainly after the 14bolt.

Wheels are straight, but he is keeping them until he gets "others" for whatever he ends up building. And Im first on the list for the wheels.lol I need some rollers to fit it in my garage .lol 16in rubber bands .lol

Nothing further on tuttle creek planned as yet. I go back to work
Monday ending a 2 month lay off. so I'll be saving some money for smorr in June. but I could probably make a tuttle run this spring. The club has a meeting a week from tomorrow and I will see what they have planned.

After blowing up the t-case pic, I'm pretty sure it's a 203 (even though it doesn't belong in an '80).

was 203 stanard in 79? Maybe being mfg 12/79 they were still using up stock on the assembly line????

Nice score! If those are 16" wheels and y'all have all 4 hubcaps, put me 3rd (I think it's 3rd, right?) in line for the wheels! Thanks!
