At ya mama's!
I refer to them as "UMGs", but someone prefer "Mogs" and "Unimogs". Anyway, who wants to have some of the Best Axles ever made under their GM ?

  • UMG 406/416 - Frontaxle: $500. Rearaxle: $300.
  • UMG 404 - Frontaxle: $300. Rearaxle: $185.
  • UMG 421- Frontaxle: $300. Rearaxle: $185.
  • UMG 401/411:- Frontaxle: $300. Rearaxle: $185.

(I hope I did the maths, $ and € right..)

I love the clearance the portals provide, but the portals themselves are weak. Shouldn't have a problem with a stock Blazer though. I've just talked to a guy who has a pile of broken ones. He keeps ripping the portals off of the axles. Damn buggies. lol

This wouldnt be a problem with the 406/416s, they have improved portalboxes. If I have understood it correctly its the casting that cracks, Im pretty sure MB dealt with that on the 406/416s. I bet that guy have 49s on stock 404s, right ?

I'm scared to even ask what the shipping would be? :eek1:
Indeed! I was trying to help out one of our English CK5'ers last year by shipping him an open 10-bolt carrier. Cheapest we could find was around $120! :eek1:

A machined titanium version of the cast part ought to solve that.....

Hmmm how appropriate, and just this morning I found a CK5'er who seems QUITE comfortable machining Ti parts!! :saweet:

Idea ?

Actually, thats not a bad idea at all. I saw a guy on PBB who had made some out of mild (?) steel..

Actualy...You might be able to get ahold of the axels through a Case IH tractor delership. Back in the 70's Unimog actualy make a vehical for Case and it was sold here in the US with Case writen on the side and everything. But that probaly wouldn't be the cheap route. Tractor dealers are worse that car dealer ships on parts prices.

No they didnt, that is the cool part about them. I thought maybe the mix-matched Case/MB Parts, or something. Whatever. :D

All it was was Case badging. Also they had to have been sold in Nebraska cause I saw it in a Nebraska Tractor test book.
