Alrighty, went out to go to class this am, started the truck, and it wanted to bog when I first fired it, blipped the gas, ran fine for a second, then I noticed it seemed to be missfiring. Glanced in the mirror and could see the exhaust just putting out puffs of steam, instead of a constant stream. Turned the radio off, and it was a definite low idle, I would get 4-500RPM, and the check engine light was flashin on and off at 100mph.

I know when your burning computer chips if you have the wrong check code that it will make the check engine do that, please tell me my computer aint frigged. :doah:

Call it an 87 TBI setup, anyone got any ideas? Ah well, least I wasnt freezin on my way to class.....Im sittin here in the house where its 72 when outside its 30. Yesterday mornin it was 60, go figure. Chris

At 100 MPH my guess is that the code light looks like this -

Alrighty, just went and pulled codes, got a 51, which is computer chip. Last time I was burnin chips I dont remember if I put it back in the little plastic holder. I hope I didnt, and its just popped up. Must be runnin on the backup chip, poorly I might add lol.

So far I've gone 80 in my rig. It doesn't seem to take toooooo long getting there. It isn't the Porsche though :doah:

Ok ok, I didnt mean the light was flashin when i was doin 100mph, i meant like it was flashing super fast. Anyway, got it fixed, the chip had popped loose inside the computer, musta been that pothole yesterday big as my truck.

Anyway, yeh truck'll do 100 pretty easy.

My stock '91 goes off the clock real easy and I've logged it on GPS at 110 which was easy enough. A head wind can slow you down pretty quick though!!!

I've had mine up around 115 on occassion. It's screaming pretty good, even with the 3.08's though. It's funny that my big old truck is faster than my 4 speed car. :haha:

This is my first time posting on this site in awhile. Looks like my old posts under Ancient_4X4 are gone. Looks like they're made some changes since I used to post here a few years ago. Plus it says I registered in Feb.. strange. :D
