I love the "old man truck" look. The 6.2 should get excellent fuel mileage. The truck runs great and drives like a dream. I replaced the dryer, orifice tube, all o-rings, and charged it with r-134.......blows ice cold! My wife doen't like to ride with me in it because it is so cold. Looks like the Duramax is going to stay parked in the shop most of the time now......I'll be driving the retro machine back and forth to work. Not bad for $900....eh? :wink1:

Yes...that's a moose on the drives door, and a bass on the passengers! Just adds to the old man look! I love it! :)

Looks familiar...:D

Mine is also a 6.2 equipped 1/2 ton. It gets 17.5 mpg in the city and 25-26 on the highway.

is that cat a model... and damn.. both looks almost the same..

The cat is just a goof...he has to get in pictures and generally make a nuisance of himself.

Looks like the big difference between the two truck is mine is a GMC, other than that and some minor cosmetic differences they could be twins.

You only paid a grand for that truck Rene?! Dang! If I had any idea Paul was letting it go for that much, it'd already be in my garage :D

Hell, i woulda flown up with a buddy and drove it back for an ultimate ck5 roadtrip:p:

Lots of good diesel deals out there,I just bought this one for $901.74 total.
$800. for the truck, rollback ride $100.+ a medium Dunkin Donuts regular coffee with cream/sugar:laugh:

92 GM 2500 with 6.5 Turbo 4L80 30,000miles plow and Gruman aluminum tool body. The truck was owned by a 80 year old man who got sick and the truck sat in the driveway for 5 years.
The truck will never see the road because the underneath is rotted bad but the motor runs super even with old fuel.

Dang Rene, I just thought I got a good deal! Yours is much cleaner than mine. Very nice score! I am in complete awe of how good it rides. The ride is reminisicent of a big caddy.

And for the guy that asked about a short bed 2wd 6.2......yes they did make some. I have a friend that has a '82 short bed step side that is factory 6.2. He drive mostly highway mile back and forth to work and he averages 27 mpg.

Has anyone bought a rubber floor mat from LMC? I am thinking of getting one for tis truck. Previous owner had a dog that rode with him everwhere and the carpet if full of hair and dander. Drives my alergies crazy!

To be perfectly fair Paul gave me a smokin "good buddy" deal on the truck. I figure by the time I got it home and on the road here officially I am into it for about $1700 US. Still a great deal IMO...

I totally agree on the ride being very smooth, almost car like. Last night i took it for a drive just for the enjoyment of taking it for a drive. It's so totally stock and unmolested I feel like I've stepped back into 1983. It even still has the stock AM/FM cassette stereo it came with when new (and it works...) Even the clock in the dash works...The only thing that currently does not work is the AC, but I'll get that fixed before the summer heat starts here. With the untinted rear glass and the small cab it can get very hot in there very quickly.

I hate you! You have my dash pad

:D and it's in very nice shape too...

Actually it does have a small crack in it, but it is easily a 9/10 condition wise.

dang guys, Im jealous. I had one just like it in highschool about the same shape same color, but with the burnt orange interior that matches the paint. I loved the truck. I wish i still had it. I always got a good laugh when people ask why it made so much noise when idling. most people dont know that GM put diesels in this model truck. well anyway nice trucks guys. now off to ebay I go to find me another one!!! Dustin

I had a gas station attendant freak out on me when I filled my truck up with diesel a while back. He said "You do know you just put diesel in your truck right?". I replied that I sure hoped it was diesel or I was gonna have a bad day... :p:

I guess he didn't know the nozzles are quite a lot larger for diesel than for gasoline.

It's the ultimate cruiser/commuter for me, and has the added utility of the 8 foot bed. Good fuel mileage, comfortable and gets a lot of positive attention from people. There aren't many in this good a condition around here that haven't been full frame up restorations.

Rene

yeah I know whatcha mean. I used to have to go in and ask em to turn the pump on because they thought I was getting the wrong fuel. my mom had a Ford tempo or a topaz diesel and always got the 'that thing is a diesel!' line from the attendant.

Dustin

wish I could find stuff that clean around these parts for $1000...I'd be all over it! Nice finds guys...

Them old C10 6.2s are the nicest riding trucks. Whenever I get my moving again the SBlazer is probably gonna get parked
