Check out this ebay find....pinion brakes on 1tons????

Pinion brakes are totally unsafe on the street and the rotor has lots of potential for being bashed on the rocks. Plus the brakes on 1 tons are pretty good already which is why you never see anyone switch to pinion brakes on 1 tons.

Many people use pinion brakes on rockwells because they have very heavy (and sucky) brakes. Pinion brakes make good trail-only brakes and since rockwells are top loading axles (kinda like a really high pinion) the rotor has little chance of hitting a rock.

This thing is a beast will take you anywhere....
I find this quote funny considering all the work it needs done to it.

Ah yeah, a CUCV 1008 Blazer. Riiiiiiiight... :haha: [The CUCV Blazers were M1009's, you see...]

check it out.....i've never seen pinion brakes on one tons before...i wonder what the reason forthat is....maybe so they don't get caked up and so it will stop (safer?)
I dont know why this guy did it, but its pretty stupid. That rotor is spinning six times faster than if it was at the wheel, can you say brake fade :o. Also snap an axle shaft, now you got three wheels braking

Also, I'm no expert on axle ID, but why does the rear axle look like a 10 bolt? Shouldn't it be a 14b, or at least look thicker than a toothpick?

I think those tires make the axles look small. But to me it looks like a Dana 70 w/ 14 b hubs and absolutely no rear brakes except the pinion brakes, maybe he thought disc conversion was more expensive than pinion brakes:haha::haha:

This thing was for sale on one of the local boards. Closed knuckle D70 front & a "Plethora" of other modifications.
