Check this out..complete fiberglass bodies

Yep, now check out the price. And that went up since last year. Heck you can buy a heep body for next to nothing. Glass is next for me, just got to win the lotto, or find a rich chick

Yup i'd almost have to have a sugar momma or not spend ANY money on bills for a month or 6 :haha:

Would LOVE to have one though

Someone on here has one of those he has a build thread blanking on the name right now though

they've been out for years..

73K5blazer has one...

Yeah, it's my dream. It's the only sure way to beat rust. Unfortunately the prices keep going up. If more of us would buy them I'm sure the price would eventually come down.

My idea was to use the 81-91 flip forward front clip with a 89-91 grill, a 73+ tub and a full soft-top, maybe using a 73+ stock fiberglass top sometimes, too. I have contacted them a couple of times and they are always kind of rude (or just really bad at email, at least) but it sounds like this is possible. Then tie a roll cage to the frame.

Body mounts would be easier using the 80+ tub and cutting it to make a full-topper (rear legroom improvement, too), but I don't know if the remaining windsheild portion would be strong enough. I assume that you have to cut the doors off, either way.

For some reason, they don't offer a tailgate. This is a bummer since tailgates like to rust. I asked them if the Blazer tubs will accept a truck tailgate and they told me that the two were "completely different". I don't know what they mean by that.

While we are discussing fiberglass bodies, it seems to me you would have a ton of additional ground wires to run.

for 9000$ i sure as hell wouldnt wanna hit anything!
You're actually looking at $12k + for tub, clip, wheel wells, doors, etc. Don't forget about a paint job. Still, to do it is 1/3-1/2 the price of a new SUV and those are on the road everywhere. You just need the right insurance.

I notice they sell a "tub" minus the floor for a heck of a lot less. How the heck would you tie that together with a metal floor pan?

Probably no help for you rust-belters, but I thought it interesting.

Thats for race only. Full cage with the body just mounted for looks. No support in the body at all.
