Check this out.. Killer Rust !

one down the street like that asking 500.00 says "fixer upper", sat down and the seat went through the floor.

Not too long ago, I was at the junkyard pulling the seats out of a '78. It was rusted so bad that when I opened the tailgate, it fell off and the quarters and topper dropped down to the ground. The tops of the quarters were level with the floor!

But the seats were alright??

But the seats were alright??

The rear one, not so much, but the front's were more than usable for what I wanted.

Look how shiny the rims are though.............

The rear looks to be an aluminum one. Front looks to be a steel one.

The first truck actually isn't that bad (from these pics). I've seen trucks and K5's that are allot worse then that.

The pass side tailgate hinge on my K5 broke/fell off from all the rust back there. And that pannel has been replaced once before! Both of the hinges were very stiff, I had to use all my weight (170lbs) to get it to open/close. I could lower it half way down and drive around, wouldn't even pahse it. I very rarely open the tailgate now (only if I have to get the spare out), as it's hard to hold it in the propper position and push it forward so it'll latch.

you are dumb! -you said to. no bondo wont fix it.

i hope you were joking!

yes...humor. Text is tough, but definitely was humor. I laughed...;)

Oh, I have seen worse...but not much worse than that. That one looks like the paint is holding the shape of it together.

I've seen a lot worse.

Saw a K5 with rust up the quarter panels over 6" to 8" up from the fender lips, all the way around. Made it look like it had rusty cut-out fenders. You could see in thru the inner fenders.

Saw a truck bed rusted so bad the bedsides would move up and down about a foot if you picked it up. The floor stayed bolted to the frame while the sides moved.

And then theres what I call "Flinstone floorboards". You know what I'm talking about.

I will take a picture of a truck around my area. Hasn't moved in over10 yrs to my knowledge. I think if a cop saw it on the highway they'd instantly call it a hazard to other drivers thus gettin it off the highway. You can literally look through the bedside from rust. There is no outside bedside anymore. Just whats left of the inner. Makes me sick to my stomach.

I'm guessing they bought it new and it's has good memories or i couldn't see why they'd want to keep that eyesore in their yad :doah:

My 77 K20 was like that. You drop the tailgate and the bedsides would fall in or out. With the tailgate up you could push the back of the bed and it would piviot at the floor.

The floors in the cab were completly gone. Passanger had to rest their feet on the frame rail. The drivers side had the lower firewall under the pedals. That truck sucked to go bogging in. The inside of the truck would get just as muddy as the outside.

Wow that looks like an early '90's Blazer, is the use of road salt that bad or just lack of care?

Usually both.
Lots of salt and many folks never wash their vehicles in the winters or just assume the $4 cheapo wash once a month is good enough.

Seen worse...however I think the insidious ones are where the outside looks fine/good and the undersides are HORRID. I owned a '86 that looked fine, just some surface rust around the K5 emblem on the d-side and a bit bubbling on the rockers.
We ended up replacing the whole floorboard under the driver's side all the way from the firewall to the step up in front of the rear seat and then some of the side of the inside wall below the B-pillar.
