Weren't the diesel Blazers made more heavy duty because of the added weight? Do they have heavy duty axles? anyone know?

What you want to find is the military k30 the M1008 , Dana 60, 14 bolt detroit 4.56 and some of the fronts had posi.....cough...

and no the diesel blazers dont have bigger axles, none I've seen anyways.

Are Chevy axles other than the Dana60s pretty good or are they fragile? Do Blazers have weak axles, is that why these heavy duty ones are so desirable? Or are they really only necessary for hardcore offroaders?

For hard core off roading yes but there are plenty if not most of the guys here still running either the stock stuff or 3/4 ton stuff. One of the reasons they are so popular here is because they basically bolt in
