Gov Locks tend to go boom because they allow one wheel to spin then when its spinning very fast, it tries to lock the other one. That means boom. This isnt allowing one to spin faster than the other.

I am aware of that, but with one wheel with tracktion and one with out, the gears will be pushing aganst that little bit of slack a lot.
after a while a 'screw' into the carrer will not hold aganst the long tearm stresses. or the gears them selfs will want to force the extra spider out creating more slake untill it eventualy lets go.
at that point do you really think there wont be any damage?
