Was this in my tire or did I run over it? If you saw my last post I blew a tire. A new tire at that. When my replacement tires came in I ran up to the local tire store and had them swapped out..... They found this in my tire. The same tire that had about 4LBs more weight than the others. Do you think It had been in there from when I had them mounted? Or did I just run over it? I like to call it my 1,000.00 wrench! here's a shot of the tire, wrench, and new tire.

Holly cow. Must have ran it over somehow. And with it bouncing around it could have damaged the inner carcus.

I worked in tire shops for a few years and we have pulled wrenches and screwdrivers and all kinds of stuff before, but rarely seen a tire blow out the side like that

10+ years doin tires i have seen most every thing in tires.

all the scrapin goin on these days it prob fell off some joe blow sh!t box truck and hit road were you got it in a unlucky way. :doah:

If it was in your tire you would definately heard it ringing off your rim everytime you came to a stop.

ya true that.

friend had a 94 camaro and got a long metal rod 1 time in rear tire. sitting fluch in tread you didnt see it. but driving it was flexing with tire and tapping on rim.

tap / tap / tap / tap /tap faster he went worse it got.

he pulled the rear brakes apart 2 times lookin for problem and finaly seen little shiny spot in tread. pulled out a 12" long object. sidewall only 4-5" tall so it tapped away on rim . :haha:

My buddy was driving down the road in a pontiac sunfire and all of the sudden a 24inch spike came through the floor board and just missed his seat. He said he heard something whack, he looked and couldn't see anything, but heard a scraping. He got out and it was wedged against the ground and stuck up in the floor. It looked like it came off a concrete truck. Yikes

Me and my friend were driving down the interstate, at 2 am.
All of a sudden we smashed into a blown out semi tire.
It was standing upright , in the middle of the of the freeway!

It was SCARY!

A few years back my father had a 30" or so piece of 3/4" rebar come through the floor of his then newish 03 2500hd , it rubbed the front of his seat and came up far enough to break the steering colum cover :eek1:

I had the metal frame of a freaking wiper blade stick into the side wall of a tire on my old cummins :doah:

I fixed a flat for a woman one time that had driven over a rubber bungy cord with the metal ends, that thing tore the sh** out ofmthe side of her Explorer that she had continued driving even after hearing this terrible " whipping and banging sound" :haha: :haha:

I did a flat repair on a local chief of police's durango one time and pulled half a beer bottle out of the tread. Sliced the piss out of my knuckle doing it too...

Packing tools in the tires? The things some guys will do to save space...

With so many people putting dyna-beads and air soft pellets in tires, I wonder if we'll ever hear about an accident from a blow-out covering the road with little round things. Probably not enough to cover a lot of road, but assuming nobody was hurt it could seem kind of funny.

We had a guy come into the junkyard in a 79 Impala one day, with a flat front tire thumping away...he didn't speak good english, and he pointed at his tire and says "you can FIX??..."...we said no, but we can sell you another tire & rim for 10 bucks, and you can put it on ,we'll let you use the floor jack"...he agrees and he takes a tire off a caddy we had just got in a few days before with decent rubber........................................................................................................................................................................................................After he gets that tire on his car,he asks us if we'll take the junk tire off his rim and sell him another tire so he can still have a spare--but he only has about 10 bucks left on him--we had several tires that wouldn't pass for a sticker piled in a heap,so we gave him one of those and charged him the whopping price of two hot dunkin donuts coffees for taking the old tire off and installing the other one...after we removed the flat junk tire,we found a disc brake pad inside it,that looked like it came off a 1 ton 2wd truck!..it was strange,it didn't seem possible for that thing to have penetrated all the way into the tire thru the slit it made in it,but it did!...we have seen about everything you can think of inside flat tires, but that was a first for us!..I remember finding a flattened bullet in one cars tire I removed many years ago!..
