checking torque

I agree, I did fine with my cambel hausfeld 27 upright 110V until I got to working on my big rig, and I realized the 3/8" hose won't do the job.
I have 1/2" hoses now running to a 1" impact running 2600 ft lbs of torque.:eek1:

Yep there are some bolts I can't break lose with that thing but have top use a 2" pipe 8 foot long cheater bar to do it

It's amazing how much torque a guy can produce with a cheater that long. We too have a BIG 1" drive impact that runs a dedicated 3/4" air line directly off the tank into the shop (we only plug it in when we need that impact) and there's plenty of stuff it can't break loose. Generally an 8'+ cheater will get the job done though.
If that doesn't work we have a hydraulic nut breaker that we can setup, it's a PITA to setup but there's never been a nut that's denied it. :D

Oh I had to get another guy and we both stood on that bar to break some big nuts lose one time, but we got it done.

Thats cute and all...... but you've never really lived until you grab a 1 1/2" spline drive and bust off a Cat D11 under carriage. Even then you have to dip into a RAD gun or the hy-torq. Talk about Bull work. :doah:
