ok so i finally got the truck running, this is my first time testing the flex. i wasnt that impressed, i dont know if its my shocks or what, look at the video (under 5 megs) and let me know what you think. Also my steering wheel is crooked now, i heard a loud pop while flexing and turning, so what could have happened?
anyone guess at the score? whats it look like maybe 45 degrees? its about 37 inches up

it may be a "cheese video" but anytime you combine video,Blazer's and ROCK....= COOL! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

RTI score would be 1016 /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif

cool video, i like the editing /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif /forums/images/graemlins/bow.gif

did you check all the rod ends (tierod, draglink) /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

no i havent, i dont know where to start yet, the steering system is somewhat new to me. so i should check the tie rod ends and drag link ends?

Re: cheese video of my flex... need input and pointers

Wow nice video, what do you use for editing? What are the specs on the rig Branndon? Nice work!

Interestin background music. You got my kids all hyped up. They had their own little mosh pit goin on. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Anyways check the locatin pins. Mine make a poppin sound every so often and I'm pretty sure that the pins are a little worn and lettin the axle scootch around a little. Oh and also make sure all of the u-bolts are real tight.

Good luck to ya in the future.

Nice flex by the way.

specs are in my sig, follow the link. And editing is pinnacle studio, i only added music to cover all the squeeks and crinkling noise /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I now this has been covered before but, personally, how much did you trim to fit the 37's? Thats what I'm looking at now for my DD. What song was that by the way? Thanks

Re: cheese video of my flex... need input and pointers

i trimmed too much. lol about a 2 inchs around the existing cut out, then tapered to the angle i wanted
the song was buck dish or something by rammstein, dont know the proper spelling /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

the rod ends all *look* normal is there a way to test them? none of them move by hand and the u-joints also look normal. could the crooked wheel maybe have something to do with the box?

Good video! But needs to be off-road video! Yeah I know you lookin for pointers on simple fixes. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gifVideo+Rock+K5= Great! /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

if you can't move them, them they probably are good. i would next check the centering pin.
one of my friends hit a tree with his front tire and after that the steering was off. i didnt see anything wrong at 10pm, but the next day on his way up to the dunes, the front axle fell out from underneath him going down the road /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif

I've been looking for one of those walls somehwere /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

Cool video /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I think most of us have the problem with the wheel being crooked after wheelin'. I can't figure it out either. Unless the 2.5 degree shims I have are allowing a little axle slippage. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gifNice rig!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, cheeeeesssssssseeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

I'll be right back I gotta go check the fridge for some pepper jack!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I can respond now that I have some pepper jack and an ice cold Rainier barley pop /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif
That was pretty cool!!!!!!!

From some off road racing I was involved in I learned to paint the suspension components with some spray paint at all the adjustment points and mount points, like the sleeves for the tie rods and drag links and where the springs mount to the pads and the u-bolts so you can A. tell where the adjustments USED to be at a glance, and B.if something has moved or streched you can tell easily and put it back CLOSE to where it is supposed to be and get on with your race. You can't take all the proper tools with you to do a field alignment but if you get your paint marks CLOSE you won't have to wait on your chase team.

Just my $.02

Good idea with the paint. We do that on our refueler lug nut. I should have thought of that for my own truck parts. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
