I'm going to have to cut on the red line and sleeve it so the yoke is a little longer. The blue line is at least 7", I'm going to have to machine down where the carrier bearing rides so that the sleeve can use the whole amount of travel.

Then I'm going to get superflex joints, hopefully this will allow me to get rid of my square driveshaft. I may have to limit down travel a little though. But with the joint it should be capable of at least as much angle as a 1310 or 1410

Total cost should be less than $200

This is also on the way

Well look what the cat dragged in!

Been a while, eh?

Probably will be a week or two, I'm at school Tuesday-Friday about an hour away from home.

This weekend I'm going to pull the body of my CC and pull the tranny out the easy way :D

Truck Pull Saturday also, but I don't think that will eat up any work time. I'm not pulling, yet.

Going to try and get 8" of travel

I'm going to have my uncle machine it down on his lathe to where I measured from. I could probably make something to spin in with a drill also and grind it down with a flapper wheel

Hopefully It doesn't cost too much to get it shortened and balanced

I've got to weld it and clean up the splines a little but other than that it's pretty much done. I got the DOM for $5 :thumb:

So this came out of a C30?? Or bigger? I need something like this. I am going to order one from Tom woods, but I like this Idea as a spare

It came out of the k30 I bought, not sure if the 2wd's had it, probably so.

There is a part number I could get if you wanted, it yields probably 5" in stock form

All crew cabs have them and some regular cabs do too.
I have a couple of these and now I am going to be building me a couple of long slip shafts.
Thanks for the idea.:thumb:

Heres the numbers I got, cant find anything through google

C3-3-399-2, not sure if it was a C or a 0

I'll measure it tomorrow, just set the alarm. It looks to be around that, maybe 3.5"

It's a midship shaft

Thanks thats what I was looking at. That link tells dimensions and and tube diameter you can run etc. I can always turn down the weld surface to fit smaller tube.

there isn't enough material to turn it down very much

I have 3 of these shafts and I find it odd that my 79 K30 was that course spline but the other 2 are fine one being a 79 c30.
