1/2 ton status
What year did chevy swap over to 5 lugs on the 1/2 ton. Was it in 79? A friend of mine has a 79 chevy pickup with 5 lugs and I was wondering if it was stock. I thought they swapped later than that.

my 77 has 5 lug i even have the original spare too.

went to 5 lug in '71 at the same time they brought out disc brakes. in '88 they brought back 6 lug 2wds with the light duty 3/4 tons, then went back to standard 6 lugs on 2wds in '99

Yea I forgot that the 2wd and 4wd are different. I was wondering because I have several 4wd and they are all 6 lug, and I was wondering why his was 5 lug.
