chevy 6.5l diesel

Not running is always a tough one to call.

Could be the IP, ask the seller why he/she thinks that.

Could be the PMD, this is the post mechanical injected engine, the PMD was known for cooking and going bad. aftermarkets developed a relocation bracket for that.

Could be a faulty lift pump.

I believe this is still old enough to have the crankshaft/block cracking problems. dunno if that would contribute to the no starting. Id bring a few batteries if it were me, and at least see if the thing cranks without any odd noises.

as an ex car salesmen, the fact that they say it has a bad fuel pump, and have made it pretty clear that you cant even crank it, makes me nervous. At the very least bring a breaker bar and sockets and see if the engine turns over smooth.

States might need an ignition switch.

Ask if the truck ran when it was parked. as in, after whatever collision caused all that damage to the passenger side. how long did it sit before the batteries were pulled.

The NV4500 is nice

Its gonna have an IFS, great for the road, from what Ive heard not that great off road. But i have no personal experience with it.

guess it depends on what you're gonna use the truck for. As a beater, Id say its at least worth a look. I believe the IP is $700 for the part, and a days worth of labor... say 8 hours for a tech charging, $100 per hour or so.

Worst case scenario you could buy it for $400-600 and sell the NV4500 for more than that, the clutch linkage for more $, anything else of value, and then call one of those "we buy cars for up to $400" guys to come tow away the chassis. Youd still come out ahead by a few hundos.

I was thinking of getting it running and make some money or part it out and make money. I do want a nv4500..

in that case, id go take a look at it. For a non-running, wrecked truck, I think $700 is too much.

You could always leave him your number, and tell him when he's willing to take $300 give you a call.

I got $250 for the burned out shell of my IROC after it caught fire in the driveway. If you buy it for what you sell it for, any parts *cough*NV4500 and related parts*cough* you keep are gravy.:thumb:

That things worth $700 all day IMO. The cab is easily fixable, throw a new bed on it and its worth $1500 just as a roller.

OBS trucks are expensive unlike square bodies.
