Chevy Blazer Chalet $1000

That actually looks to be in fairly decent shape. Throw in an old engine and go.

Looks good to me. An engine is easy to find. An intact Chalet is not. I would probably buy it if it was closer.

I would not call this an intact chalet, it needs work, and the PO is a hack, look at the inside pics, and look at the rear door.
I am not saying it couldn't be made into something usefull, but it's not going to be a chalet without a lot of money for the right parts, which would have to come from another chalet.:dunno:

It is a Chalet right now . . . . . . .

Martin
well yeah, but a Chalet in my term is a fully functionnal original piece.
I have a shell that will be probably better than the original, but it won't be a Chalet, and I started with much less money than this.

So by that definition there are only like three people on here with Blazers????

:doah:
A Chalet is a rare item, so the rules are different.
When they become collectors items, which they slowly are, they will need to be as close to original as possible.
Now that doesn't mean you can't stray away, but the value of said item drops. That hasn't stopped me though I am doing a custom shell as I don't care about resale value.
A blazer is as worthless as our dollar, they are a dime a dozen, so you can do whatever you want, actually you can only improve on their value.:waytogo:

This one is serial #0158, built in 6/76, by the way. It is owned by a member of our Yahoo Chalet forum, he rescued it from a Pocatello Idaho junkyard a few years ago and did a reasonable job fixing it up from its prior condition. If you click on the photo link in my old post at this other forum you can see what it looked like back then. As he notes in his ad, it has rust problems, though.

Previous owner(s) repainted & restriped it, all '76s had a factory color of lite tan with burnt orange accents on the truck and the same color for the roof.
