What was the first year Chevy made a crewcab?
And they didn't have a D60 till 76 or 77 on the 4wd, they had a heavy duty D44 instead.:D

What made it HD.

On the same model F*rds the d44hd had thicker axle tubes, larger dual piston brakes, larger wheel bearings & extenal lock-outs. Just curious if those eary chevy's were the same?

No unfortunately the early chevy HD 44's only had the external style locking hubs, they probably also had the bigger bearing hubs and no neck down shafts, but then all D44s had those after 76 :o
No chevy that I know of had dual piston calipers, I want to see if I can make one of those work on a Chevy D44
