At the dealer ship I work at we are detailing a 28K mile 78 chevy big 10 for a estate auction. It is a awsome truck except it is a 2wd. I was thinking about buying it and swapping the body on my 84 K-10. I am sure it will bring to much and I like the fact I can Use my with out feeling bad. The thing looks like it was a model for the jc whitney catalog. It have every chrome do da known to man. The one thing it has I would like to find is some steps in the side of the box. It looks like you cut a hole and these bolt it to the sheet metal. It would be great on a higher setting truck to get stuff out of the front the box. Does anyone know what I am talking about and were I could get some?

used to be a truck around here that had those. I don't know where you would find them though.

i am trying to do that to my new truck, i also plan to make a behind the rear tire storage compartment. Find out what newer trucks have this option, i believe one does if so go to the dealership and buy the preformed box/foot step dealerships sell it to body shops for major repairs. chevy had a 2001 or so hd that was a show truck for them that had this in it, looks sweet!

Are you talking about a stepside or a fleetside?

fleet side,

i am sure any truck step would work as long as it is recessed and it is formed like a box.

I believe this is the step he is referring to. Unfortuneately I dont know where to get them.

MNorby has them on his K5 too. Ive never seen them in any of my parts catalogs.

Thats the step. I just thought on a taller truck they would be great to allow access to the front of the box. I will keep looking.

My 71 has a set in them. Obviously not factory, since the PO used a drill to saw off a corner to fit them around the rocker boxes
