Chevy Power Stroke

I payed $1500 bucks for the whole truck. I use to have a 1999 power stroke and crack the pistions and rebuilt it fairly cheap. If I have any problems with the transmission clearing or the turbo I'll put a body lift on it. I just wanted to know if any one had seen one done yet?

Another thing to consider is exhaust routing. Will you have enough room between the frame rails for the trans and exhaust.

I have a 96 PSD 2wd CC F-350 and exhaust is kinda tight around the top and side of the bell.A PSD exhaust is routed on the PS side which would be the same side your case will drop on.

You also might have some firewall issues as they would sit back in there more than a 454 or 350.

It wouldnt be my first choice, but if you have it and thats what you want, knock yourself out.Im not going to try and change your mind.

I personally have never saw or heard of it being done.I will probably go with a Cummin's when mine pukes.

Someone around here has an f250 with a 4BT in it I think. Stomper I think if I remember this right. If you got it use it.

I know a guy who put a PSD in a 79 Ford, he had to use a body lift and everything was pretty tight as far as exhaust and the lower part goes. Said it took a huge custom radiator to cool the thing. So he had to mod the core support and stuff. He also had an intercooler though. It was cool as heck, any modern deisel in an older truck is cool cause comm on now Ford Chevy and dodge shouldn't even enter into the equation here, its International, Isuzu and Cummins :D:D

Does anybody know if the powerstroke has a ford only bellhousing pattern or does it have an sae type round pattern?

Not that it matters for the OP at this point, but in case someone ever stumbles across this thread with a search with the same question.....

Most likely The 7.3 uses a Ford specific hub adapter for it to mate to the smaller Ford E40D or 4R100 tranny. The industrial T444E 7.3 would most likely be set up with an SAE #2 hub adapter/bell housing.

Reason why I assume so is that I just did this with a Cummins, in that I converted an automotive 5.9 6BT to an Industrial 5.9 and I am nearly 100% sure Ford did the same thing with the 7.3, and likely the 6.0 for that matter.
