Could also be thought of as an anti-theft device.
My buddy used to do that on his old set up, He'd catch the header extensions on the wood deck if he didn't.

83/84 bezels with 85-88 grill. Needs to commit one way or the other.

At the local dump the other day
And seen this fender poking out of the work bay at the impound yard I picked one of my trucks up from this morning.

Not sure if it's a chevy but this is way up in a canyon with no road for a LONG time. That tree is growing right in the middle of it.

Well, it’s aftermarket but will soon be a Chevy at heart - if you’re gonna go through all the trouble of a replacement body ya mine as well go for one of the coolest in 1967 !
