Chevy's in the wild

The Daikoku Parking Area in Yokohama, Japan is a famous rest stop that also functions as a gathering spot for car and bike enthusiasts of all types. Never know what you'll see here, and Sunday morning was no exception.

The reason we came down to Yokohama was to see the famous Mooneyes Area 1 shop in Honmoku.

Not a ton of Chevies in the wild the day we went, but I'll post more photos of the non-Chevies in the other thread. So so so many cool cars, bikes, parts, accessories, and so on are jam packed in this shop.

That said, they do have this hot pink Vega station wagon drag car named Sprightly Fairy.

Dean Moon founded Moon Speed Equipment behind his dad's Moon Café in the early 50s and was one of the founding members of SEMA. After he and his wife died in the late 80s/early 90s, one of their close friends and Japanese dealer of MOON restarted the company and has kept it going to today.

The area this particular location is in was once under US military control, called Area 1. Here's an old photo of the area with a U.S. ARMY '56 150.
