Chevy's in the wild

I guess I'm spoiled out here in OR and before that in CO there's nearly always a fresh square or two (or more) at the yards I frequent. The ones here really don't have much rust.
There were 2 others I didn't bother to photograph since they were more picked over. I'll post some older shots
Good for you, enjoy that luxury. If it wasn't cancer(rust) that wiped them out around here, it was high steel recycling prices in the early 2000s that made them go straight to the crusher. Least that's what the boneyard owner by me told me. It's cool ya'll can save some of the old iron, they just don't make em like that anymore,

The owner has had the truck for 30 years.
1982 C10 longbed. Said he was thinking selling it as the engine is "tired".. if only it were a K10 or K20 I'd offer some $$ for it.

That would be a great truck to DD. I wouldn't mess with a 4x4 conversion, too easy to get in and haul butt wherever you go with a 2wd.

I wish I had more money and a bigger garage. Rust-free old rides can still be had with regularity out this way.

Take for example, this clean 1984 Caddy for sale at the junkyard 2 months ago.

Apparently there was no interest, so as of yesterday it was in the yard being parted out.

I wish I had the room and smarts to stockpile in the mid 90s when squares were plentiful and cheap round here to stock up.
D60s were $500, I was like, "too much, won't go that route til I have to"
