Cant imagine someone went to the trouble of adding a door in the bedside if there wasn't a different tank added though.
 
The aftermarket saddle tanks all came with a door to add into your bed. My kids ford had saddles in it when bought it and 4 gas doors, I am guessing 2 sets of saddles over the years.

There is a nice mid 80’s K-5 behind the K-30 but I could not get close enough to take a pic.

Looked like this guy liked the movie CONVOY way too much - ya just can’t give us rednecks a little spare time and money because this is one of the things ya end up with…

Is that a 3/4 ton with an NP203? Looks like a flanged hub.
Might be a part time case without the manual hub option - @82355 pointed out a while back that in the early to mid seventies the manual hubs were an option. Later on they became standard equipment on part time trucks.
