Chevy's in the wild

I bought a lot of parts from John over the years, I know he didn’t understand us spending lots of money on a 4wd but he never said anything. He was a genuinely nice person and one hell of a story teller, I will miss hearing “L S fu#@king 7!”.

I wish I could have been there today.

Good times - real good times !

Coulda, actually shoulda, bought a '53 at auction with title sold for $300. Didn't have an engine. The biggest issue was it had a big farm truck dump box so I don't know how I would have hauled it away.

We went and got some trucks for extra parts today ( the white 1980 K/10 is my portion of the lot ).
It is an ex mud racer and has a real healthy 454 in it with all the extra go fast regular parts H/S roller rockers , dual springs, MSD, DEMON 850 carb, Torker intake and big stall converter ( my buddy laid claim to it ) on 38” Boggers.

We bought three K-10’s all together ( gotta go back for truck # 3 - wasn’t room for it on either trailer ) and a 62 Caddy with a LS in it for something to ride in at Cruis’n the Coast in Mississippi next year.

The orange K-10 is the guy we bought the trucks from daughters ride - it was really nice!
The bright red truck was his wife’s ride.

We had nowhere left to park in the Caddy’s neighborhood except in the median ( John this was in JD’s neighborhood ) and we may have squashed the grass just a little with the Bobcat on the back of the trailer….

Love me some stepsides!

Astro's were available AWD, the "Stay Tuned" channel on YT used the drivetrain from an AWD Astro to build a fake Cyclone S10 ("Syke Clone").

I doubt it.
The frame on these vans are too low you need to lift higher for 4wd
Looked like the 6 on 5.5” truck center caps on back, that’s what got me wondering. Didn’t the V-drive ones sit fairly low? I honestly don’t know much about them, I just remember seeing them back when I lived in Cleveland. That was 30+ years ago, so it’s a bit fuzzy.
