I was sent a picture of one like that. They claimed GM was trying to recreate the square body. Even the fender badge looks old school.

I think it's just a common look. I had a burb that looked just like that a decade ago. @AugustDiesel has a burb that is very similar, at least until he did the recent upgrades.
