While I agree the proportions are a bit off, there is a 64-66 long bed stepside I see driving around town that has a 5 gal jerry can on the passenger side front step and a spare tire on the ds front step. It seems to be enough to kind of bring the look together for me at least.

Looks similar to my 74 Chevelle Laguna S-3 I had in high School
I had a chance to get 2 mostly rust free lagunas, one a true 454, for $2500 a few years ago.
And I picked the burb instead.
I love my burb, but I kick myself on a regular basis when I see a laguna.
