Seen it many times.Nice car!
Straps through the wheels always make me cringe, seems like they’d leave scuff marks.
If done correct and protector sleave over strap its about the best way to secure down .Nice car!

I was living in Texas in 1980 and saw my first 1980 Z/28 in an amusement park parking lot near Fort Worth and noticed the changes from the ‘79 models and was staring at it in awe - it was white with blue stripes and interior and had those wheels that the ‘86~’88 Monte Carlo SS’s used.I remember being the launch of this one in 81 back home.
I always dreamed of owning one and I was close then something came up and the money went for more essentials.
You're actually right it was 1980 because in 1981 I was somewhere else. I remember now because in 81 we had a war in Beirut that I was watching from the hillsI was living in Texas in 1980 and saw my first 1980 Z/28 in an amusement park parking lot near Fort Worth and noticed the changes from the ‘79 models and was staring at it in awe - it was white with blue stripes and interior and had those wheels that the ‘86~’88 Monte Carlo SS’s used.
I was only ten years old but I noticed that the hood scoop had the lettering “Air-Induction” on it and it sounded a lot like the Chevelle SS’s “Cowl-Induction” to me so I knew it was cool !
As I was about to walk away this SMOK’n HOT lady that looked like Olivia Newton-John walked over to it and turned to me and said “Honey, if you were about ten years older I’d take you for a ride” - I’ve been look’n for that woman ever since !
