I recently dropped in a built 5.7 into my K5 in place of the worn out old 5.0, my new motor has an Edelbrock performer carb on it with an electric choke.
When pulling the 5.0 out I didnt mark the wires for the stock choke and now I cant figure out which ones I plug/wire into my new choke to get it to work.
My truck is an 84' and came with the little oil sending unit thing down near the oil filter with the three wires coming out of it. I didnt install that sending unit into my new motor and as such my choke light on the dash is staying on constantly.
Is there a way to wire my truck up so that my new choke will work as well as the original choke light on the dash working with it? Idealy I'd like the choke light to be on when the choke is engaged, then come off when the choke is off.
If this cant be done, how can I wire my truck up so that the light isnt on and my new choke works? My Haynes repair manual doesnt show a wiring diagram/pictures of the choke wiring so I cant figure out which wires go to where.
