Choke Light and exhaust backfiring!!

Lately my choke ligh has come on intermintently and i can tell it is running worse, also my exhaust has started to back fire because i have a large crack on the end of my muffler. It will also shoot flames out the right side pipe(one with hole) im thinking this is because the engine gets to much gas with the choke and the extra gas ignites in the pipe. Is this right?? SO any input on fixing the choke would be great, thanks!!

Are you sure that the choke is really closed when the light is on? My choke light comes on every once in a while but the choke is all the way open. hope this helps!! Chris

If your choke light comes on when the engine is warm, your low on oil. Mine has done that a time or two. Especially when turning a corner. Watch your oil pressure when it comes on.
