So , i was re-installing my headers and on drivers side, below plugs there is a sensor that looks like oil pressure, but its not. Really have no idea what it for, but i broke one of the tabs off and now my CHOKE light is on, on the dash.

My choke dont really work anyways. How do I 1) get the light off or 2) should I just replace this sensor and what else does it do.

Anyone got a part number for this part? LMC truck doesnt have it and i dont know what its called, etc

1984 K5 , 305cid, 700r, stock, org. motor

This it?

water temperature sender passenger side would have a knock sensor

What?

Ive got a water temp that is more towards the front of the motor on driver side, thats not the one I broke.

Its the sending unit beside the oil filter on drivers side, everything ive read says its a oil pressure sending unit that sends signal to the choke light, it seems its kind of a warning light for low oil pressure if it comes on. Well, mine comes on cuz i broke the tab, lol. I just need to know if that link i posted is the correct part I need.

If it is the one above the oil filter, oil presure. The one you linked is for a dummy light. If you have an oil presure gage, not the right one.

yes, the part you linked is for the choke. It makes an electrical connection when there is oil pressure, so your electric choke dosent open without the engine running. If you don't want to replace it, running a jumper wire across the two terminals will complete the circuit/turn off the light. Keep in mind every time the ignition is on it will power the choke wire.

Ok. thanks

I was reading that if you have LOW oil pressure, that can trigger the choke like, so its kinda like an ENGINE light?

Ill get the sending unit replace, I just wanted to make sure it was correct.

Thanks
