It seems like a crime to cut this nice grille up. It's in really good shape for being 30 years old. I'm getting rid of the fenders and tubing the front and need a narrower grille. The chrome pieces across it are real metal, not the chrome paint junk. Are these things worth keeping, or should I just chop it to fit. I'm not sure what I should do. Here's a pic...

if you were closer I would trade you my 84 grill for your 75. My has a crack on the outer edge, but i'd imagine you'd cut that off for narrowing.
good luck whatever you do.:)

Sell it or swap it Fred. Don't whack up a nice piece of classic GM hardware for your trail truck. Find a junk one and cut it up and make a $ off that one.

That's what I was thinkin. What would something like this be worth? Enough for a WMS 3:1 for my 203:haha:

Somehow I doubt it. Every little bit helps though right. So you decided on the 3:1 instead of the regear? I think that is the best option for you. It gives your more options too. 1:1, 2:1, 3:1, and 6:1. With the addition of 42's, 3:1, and truggying it will be a totally different animal and will be fun to watch.

Ahhhh... So the race is on??? First to the top of china wash wins

I like the way you are headed. How narrow are you thinking?

PS I am going truggy this month too (I decided that soon after H2H whooped my azz)

Kinda funny, we all can break every part, dent every panel, kill any tool, but for the love of god don't hurt the windshield.

Kinda like the states that require a wiper, but not a windsheild:laugh:

BTW, picking up glass is a PIA. Ask Juan about Rockpile:laugh:

sell the original grille, and buy an aftermarket, and pocket the rest of the cash. i'm sure there's someone out there who an aftermarket grille just isnt an option for.

That is the only thing worth anything besides the 4 speed setup that came with my other 83 :D Dunno about the other tub as I ain't heard of it again , but I sure as #$%^% are going to keep my unmolested winder on whatever backs out of my garage this summer

If your truck makes it all year without getting the front fenders pushed in like Shawns ............. I'll #%$^ an eggroll ;)

i would find another truck to put it on. that is the cleanest grill that i have ever seen and its allmost to bling for me. im planing on swapin a 70's front clip on to my 81 dually that mean that the grill would work. dont cut it up save it for the broke white kid:grin:

I have one from a 73!

I would sell yours and get one from a boneyard that has some of the "teeth" broken out in the area your going to cut off anyway--its nearly impossible to find a nice on in the yards, but there are plenty of grilles that have been butchered to let plow hoses go thru them,or have cracks or teeth missing--they will probably just give you one that isnt mint, they will most likely crush it anyway...

Fred....don't chop that up!!!!!:(
Those grills go for $30-50 at a swap meet.$200 new.

I have a couple rough grills..that would be perfect.

you wanna trade? the one on my truck would be perfect for cutting up. its got one little crack on the bottom (slightly offcenter to the pass side.) its from a 74, are they the same?
