Chop saw and porta band

I have a Porter-Cable Port-a-band band saw, one of the best tool I have ever bought. It's a much nicer saw then the millwakie or Dewalt IMHO.

I have alot of blade deflection on my Dewalt chop saw. My Milwaulkee at work had taken 15 years of abuse and misuse. Still holding up well. I should have bought a milwaulkee for home use.:doah:

I have only used Milwaulhee porta bands and have 2 of them. Both work well. I can't compare it to any other portabands tho.

I bought the Ridgid chop about 6 months ago.. it was about $25 cheaper than the Dewalt.. about $175.....

It's been flawless so far...

wish it was a compound miter tho...

I love my Dewalt 12" sliding compound miter saw. I got my dewalt chop saw for $159. They mis-marked the sale price.

I have a REALLY OLD Makita chop saw and have NEVER been happy with it. I also am going to buy a new chop saw in the near future and was looking at the Dewalt but the clamp screw handle looks like junk. I do like the quick action part of it though. It sucks with my Makita to have to keep screwing the damn clamp in or out to adjust for whatever size material i'm going to clamp in it.

I have used a Milwaukee porta band once years ago it it worked perfect and i was thinking of buying one in the future when the need arises.
