It's like christmas in may! woohoo!
Went there at 4:15...it opened at 12:00...didn't see the lights there, I guess they sold quick or I missed them. I was going to pick up a digital caliper but I had enough stuff at the time...and should pick up a more reliable one.
satisfied? hell yes!
Pics later tonight!

no comments? Oh well...pics later, forgot to uplpad them last night.
I have questions about the engine stand...but not till later!

Was it Northern Tool? We have them down here. Every 6 months or so they rent out a building and bring in 3 or 4 big rigs full of that kind of stuff. Tools everywhere... Last time I was there I snagged a cheap sand blasting kit (which I used to repair my bead blast cabinet) and something else I can't remember right now... DOH!!!

Hope everything holds up and works for you. I havent had the best of luck buying tools at events like that. Was trying to take a lug nut off with a socket set that i bought at one of those things and the dang socket pretty much exploded into lots of lil pieces when i put any torque on it. Maybe im just hard on stuff i dont know.

Who was the vendor???

Was it one of those "Cummins" tool sales that come around here every few months?...we have a local V.F.W. club that rents their lot and building to them to hold those tool sales...I bought some stuff from them--most of its ok for light use,or a homowner, but some stuff is cheesy China crap too, like their drill presses and anything "forged",like a ball joint press, and some of the sockets are brittle....got to be careful what you buy at those places!..

The main thing that irks me is they advertise all kinds of stuff in the flyer in the local newspaper--but they never bring more than one or two of the bigger heavy items I was interested in buying, like an engine hoist,or a hydraulic pickup truck crane they had advertised for 99 bucks--they only had 2 of each when I went, and they were already sold.. :angry1: this was after sitting in a traffic jam for 30 minites caused by all the bargain hunters going in and out of the place.. :screwy: wasted 1/4 tank of gas for nothing!.. :frown1: ...sounds like you got good deals on the jack stands and motor stand..

hey, they are called "kismet" out of Calgary...
Yeah I got good deals, I know it's not quality stuff, but it should last me until I can afford Better stuff.
Bob, this one actually had quite a few of the bigger items...they had 8+ engine stands, 6 cranes, 20 assorted jackstands, etc... except they didn't have my lights I wanted

It was probably a Home' (pronounced hom-a) sale, I bought one of the digital calipers and it has been a good one, well worth the $13.

Are all engine stands spin like this? or is this the cheap way? There is some slack when I move the handle when the "key" is in...

My engine stand is the same, just keep your little fingers out of the way unless you enjoy sausage links.

For some reason I chuckled when I read this. Does she help you sometimes?

haha she helped once.
It was my mom's idea to get them for her...when she actually does work outside (not very often)

I think it is a KisMet sale that I'm going to tomorrow. They have a pair of bucket seats that look like they might be alright. There were a few decent deals in the flyer, I might end up picking up some other stuff if the quality is half decent.
