Im debating on painting my rims before i install my axles and new tires and wheels and iv been going back and forth about painting them black or just leaving them chrome. If i paint them black ill scuff them up with 220 and brake clean them, use zinc primer, then black spray paint and not too sure if i should clear but tell me what you think guys!

I voted chrome, but only if its in good shape.

If I was buying new, I'd get black though.
 
ehh i bought these tires used with rims for 400 bucks but the outter lips are rusting, not too sure if it would look good black but i love black rims
 
If youre going to go with painting use Hammerite Paint. Saw it reccomended in a few posts on here, tried it, no complaints. Just use a wire wheel on a drill or grinder to do the scuffing. Paper takes forever, and unless you're used to being single it tires out the forearm pretty quickly.;)
 
I have the best of both worlds. Mine are polished with black beadlock rings. :D I voted Black.

i traded some car audio i had laying around and 400 cash for them, guy wanted 700 before, i was pumped when i got them, but gotta find some decent street tires to keep them from wearing, have a source on some toyo opencountrys m/t's
 
I voted chrome. They look decent and it's not like you spent a bunch of extra money on chrome "just for the show". Otherwise, silver would look good.
 
I always love the look of a black wheel. I just picked up a set of clean h2 wheels, dabating on wether i should paint them black.
 
I voted for black wheels. I have a set of slightly rusty chrome wagon wheels that came on my truck. They're going to see some black paint very soon.
 
I like the look of black wheels so thats my vote and they should turn out fine with the prep work that you have mentioned.
