JUNE 29 to JULY 6th 2012 :waytogo::waytogo::waytogo::woot::woot::woot:
THESE ARE ON TRAIL DATES.
we will leave the parking lot the morning of JUNE 29th at aprox 9 am .plan on a 12-14 hr day the 1st day to reach where we will have the 1st base camp.
everyone should plan on being up here 2 days before the run so you can have a day to rest and a day to get food and do any last minute repairs on the rigs.will have a rig inspection that day also to double check that all the rigs are ready to go.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

min requirements

38" mud tires-

1 locker

winch prefered-min 2 winch rigs to 1 non winch rig

gas for 300 miles off road-figure it at 4 mpg-thats what we have been averaging

tow points front and rear

recovery strap

spare or means to fix a torn sidewall

shovel

high lift

seat belts for each person riding in the rig

first aid kit

gloves for winching

tent-unless planning to sleep in your rig

basic tools and any specialty tools needed for
your rig

if open topped rig must have roll bar

cb radio or hand held frs

recomended items
spare parts*************LOTS
rain gear
warm clothes-can get in the 20-40s at night
flash light and batterys
tarp to cover tent

prepare for bad weather and cold temps.

heres the minumum stuff. as the trips are planned we might add more stuff.also prep the rigs for deep water crossings.if we decide to cross the mclaren river it can be 5 ft or more deep.other crossings average up to 4 ft deep in places plus the hidden holes.:haha:
the tire size could be dropped to 35 IF the rig is locked FRONT AND REAR and has a winch.but the tires would need to be a very aggressive tire-ie boggers etc.no standard mud tires and def NO ALLTERRAINS.
we have run fullsized rigs in this area on 35s and they tend to just sink in the holes.
i realize a trip like this would be the trip of a life time for a lot of you and i would want to beable to cover as much ground back there as we can with out always being stuck.
one trail we took took us 13 hrs to go 12 miles. 1st 4 miles took 9 hrs.
i do have extra sets of tires that could be used 37s and wide 35s that will fit 1/2 tons.if your running a 1/2 ton locked front you will need to bring 2 complete sets of front shafts because you not be able to climb monument in 2wd.and the idea of being chained to a rig climbing that hill is a scary thought.

as far as hunting it is open black and brown bear season in that area year round.you will need to get with fish and game to see what the out of state requirments are.most of the rivers and creeks have dolly vardon and trout and greylings in them.plus there ptarmigans if you like bird.
canada has some strick gun rules.check before you bring them-wouldnt want to lose tham at the border.if needed i can get a gun dealers info so you could send them up threw them.

mixed rocks mud rivers gravel trails but lots of mud
Well I am going to try for 2012.
I have everything but need the time to put it together.
This year I couldn't do it because I have to be somewhere else, but hopefully next year I should be able to go.

Fuel would be a toughy...fitting a large enough propane tank to last 300 miles could be a limiting factor :haha:

Nope we have a couple of Large rigs that we could stash a few extra propane tanks for you

maybe you could bring the Semi and trailer and get a couple other guys to come too and split fuel costs?

So list for 2012, find a set of one tons lock and gear them bolt on 38s.

Open a lemonade stand to make the cash I need to get up there.

No. thats not going to work. Sell my body for cash,...............wait thats not going to work either.

Hmmmmmmmmm Beg and plead with Issam to take the semi put together his rig for him for payment.....................Now that might work??????????????:D:D

Mike and i were talking you need to bring horton.........and rain gear

I will be going. I may not be able to attend all of the day trips when we get to camp because I only have 200$ for fuel as of right now. Hopefully that changes, supposed to start working tomorrow.

Theres pretty much a little of everything to be found out there. Theres even a big rock garden near camp, don't have pictures of it though.

You know thats not a bad idea really. We will see after this year. I could make Hortons cab pretty weather proof for not a ton of money.

Just need to fine a set of 40" boggers to run up there. Even with all the extra gear in Horton, I bet I would still be under 5500lbs

I built the cage to be able to throw a top and some plexi on it and be sealed up decent

I could send my 41" ag's to your place in IDaho and you could bring them up with you!

Haha, not quite crazy enough to be barred from the 'states. Just crazy enough to think that sounds like a riot. I've got most met now, and those that I don't are already in the works. Admittedly I'm not entirely sure where Eureka is, as my time in AK amounts to nil. But I know Ancorage is about 3100 km (2000 Miles) which is reasonable for a little wheeling :D

I'm in! Do you guys know of any shipping companies that'll transport my truck up your way? I don't have enough vacation to drive the 6000km both ways, but can fly in/out from McMurray.
