ck5 slow death? google trends decline

No need to search it when all of our devices autofill the address bar.
Too bad my floor pan doesn't have this function...

Just a thought...maybe people are really using wrong key words. Bronco instead of Blazer? ;). I've lost track how many people tell me they like my Bronco.

can't wait for FB to follow Myspace only a matter of time......
By being purchased by their bigger competitor and rolling in together?
Who is big enough to purchase Facebook and supplant them?

that said, forum is the life for me. I hate trying to use the “help/tech” Facebook groups. It’s not that there isn’t good info to be found, it’s just not as good or easy to use.

Hey hey now I know I been busy the last 8-10 months but I can't be slowing the forum down that much.........
Sorry couldn't resist bein a little self endulgent :pimp:
However, I won't be goin anywhere. This site has been absolutely pivitol in all of my plans/actions in the shop. Hell haf of the stuff I wouldn't attempt without consulting the minds of ck5.com. I've also met a lot of friends here with like interests which is better than I can say for the most part in my real life. Nobody knows wtf I'm talkin about when I start spewing truck jargon so I find myself reeling it back in for the forum. If I had more friends like the guys on here I wouldn't be trying to pull off work by myself 99% of the time.
It's much less toxic than fb here as well. Polotics suck and so does hate and that's all I see pushed anywhere else.

I have been on CK5 since 2003 (I think) minus a few years when my first computer went sour and I finally got brave enough to try "fixing" it and found out it was the video card that went bad..
I've used up about 4 computers since then..first one had Windows 2000/ME and then I had several XP and XP pro ones..

I am on Facebook mostly because that is where all the artists I like post up live feeds, and I use it to keep in touch with my sister and other people on messenger..but I do tire of seeing all the fighting and bickering about politics and many other subjects, and how rude and vulgar many replies are on there...since they changed the format recently it sucks worse, its now slow to load pages and has "frozen" often ..

I rarely see any CK5 posts on Facebook show up in my feed, only a few in recent weeks..

It could be many of the guys interested in square bodies are no longer alive, the last one was made 29 years ago,and probably not that many younger guys & gals want one ,or are up to the task of restoring one ..

I think it's helpful to go to Blazer Bash and any local runs that the members put together. It's a big help when you can put a face to the screen names and even wheeled with some, it contributes to a bond you don't get elsewhere, which in turn gets the forum in a spot for better communication. I've wanted to get the local NV guys together but it's hard with my schedule (and other guy's too) but now that it's cooling off, I'm thinking of doing one, between @Fastereddie and I we have a ton of cool spots to share.

There is a FB group that I recently found "PNW K5s & Squarebodies" that have been doing several get togethers around Oregon and Washington.

I've been off and on here for a long time as my life changes focus but I keep coming back here and even it's a bit slow it's good to so many familiar old faces still here and news one.
:saweet:
Same here. Only been on here since 2009. Work takes up too much of my time, so I go through spells where I can’t even log on. Been trying to be better lately and I need to get my rig back on the road.

My wife is glued to Book of face from the time she get up in the morning, till she goes to sleep. Even when she says she is watching a TV program.

Sorry guys, I blame myself
Haven't had any CK5 content to share in the last 3 years.
Missed 4 Blazer Bashes in a row :(
Haven't had the funds for the 6.2/6L90 swap
Trying to finish remodeling my backyard.
Maybe that's what this place needs, a backyard build thread!
ok
ok
I'll get to work on it.

Most of the other forums are "slow" this time of the year too..

People are outdoors in the good weather more, and spending family time together..this year more so than others, due to the covid virus..
Also many states are having wild fires, hurricanes, etc, keeping many off the internet..

The tractor forum I'm on has many other thread forums just like CK5 for things "non-tractor related" ,since the tractor threads usually get sparse in the spring & summer, only a few threads regarding break downs or other troubles are posted--while the others remain "busy" and keep the forum active enough to keep interest high..

I think the few FB groups that a lot of us belong to have slowed down some of the posting here. Not a bad thing, but many aren’t posting the same content in both places.

That said, I’m not an very active poster in either place. But I’m here every single day catching up on stuff and still making ultra-slow progress on the K5

i'll sit here and type out an hr long tech post to help someone if I can on CK5..

I rarely answer tech stuff on bookface.. WAY too many idjits, not worth my time.. nobody appreciates it...

and if I see one more "POR15 is the nectar of the Gods" post, I'm gonna puke...

Yeah dammit, it’s chassis saver and everyone knows it!

I remember when the ColoradoK5 webpage didn't even have a forum section! That was back in the mid-90's when Steve started it to track the build of the original K5 (how many people remember that?). Brown and white 2-tone K5. 10-bolts with an ARB in the rear, 35" BFG AT's....it was hardcore at the time. The build progressed to the point it went to a full tube body, and that was about the end of it. I've gotten a LOT of good info out of this site over the years and helped build my '90. It's still sitting in the shop but hasn't been on the trail for years now, but still pop in here a couple times a week to glance around, but as already said there is only so many "how big of a tire" questions you can stand.
Facebook and other social media just can't replace forums like this for tech info. My biggest gripe on other forms is how difficult it is to find any old posts talking about a certain subject, or even follow a recent post or discussion.....you read the post once and then try to find it an hour later and it's gone.
