is there a thread somewhere in here for specialty stuff? In another thread, someone recently posted pictures of "vacuum caps" for power steering systems, to aid in the hydraulic bleeding process...

what else have you guys found out there, or had to make in order to grow that third arm, and get to the back side of something that was already impossible to reach? -tools that were needed to complete that task, or the magic widget that would complete our lives as truck owners and CK5 members??

1” flare wrench for power steering fitting on the pump.

I made something similar with a shrader valve and the inside part of an old gas cap. Here in Californistan, our K5s are discriminated against during emissions testing- they hook up a machine that pressurizes your gas tank with nitrogen, and if any pressure leaks out - you fail your emissions test an cannot register your vehicle. After they then succeed in blowing apart seals and fittings that were connected to your tank, you need a way of checking everything at home, so you can make repairs and go back for round 2 with your fingers crossed...

might not be the best idea to use compressed air in a gas tank, but I hooked up a nitrogen bottle to this, and went around my gas tank and everything connected to it with a spray bottle of soap and water- found that they blew apart a solder joint on the top of my sending unit

The 7/8 Allen for kingpin bois.
The pvc locking hub turner tool for spicer hubs.
The spindle seal driver outer from @nvrenuf posts.
12mm12 point box end extra long wrench for superduty driveshaft bolts.

lol - sooo... to quote chief wiggum (giving directions so someone can rescue him); "I'm somewhere under the earth's sun"
More specifically, I have 7 power steering pump fittings on my bench. All are 1”, of vehicles from 72-89. Never seen anything else

this is an old friend- late at night... beer and tired, from scraps on the floor and an old wrench I found at a wrecking yard... Is born the Best distributor wrench for a 350 that there ever was or will be!

fits around all the other accessories, wiring, and junk on the intake manifold. If i can get the air cleaner off, I can adjust or remove the distributor with this.

+1 on the extra long 12mm 12pt wrench.

Here's the spindle bearing remover (originally a Lisle Tool product and subsequently relabeled and sold by Blue Point and Mac)

The PVC locking hub tool @obijuank5 mentioned (1.5" PVC tee)

Needed to chase threads on D60 steering knuckles and a socket for the adjusting nuts (?) on upper ball joints on a 10 bolt.

never sliced a bolt like that to chase threads- would probably work great

ive actually made one of those adjuster tools, but used round tubing, and then tack welded to socket- not being hardened, i would say it was a one time use kind of tool.
-does the socket hold up ok?

Bolt worked well, had to clean the groves often. Threads were buggered with paint, thicker groves may have helped.

Socket held up fine, didn’t lose a single tooth. I used it for both removal and installation. Worked better than a chisel lol.
