CL find- manual tranny

Could it work? Yes. But, it's a car transmission, not really a truck intended transmission. It's pretty light duty for a truck, and it doesn't really have a good first gear ratio. The NP833 was Mopar's "bombproof" car transmission, and came behind the Hemi/440s etc back in the day. I think someone actually dreamed up the overdrive 4th version for one of the Dusters in the early 70s. Personally, I'd avoid it.

thanks for info:)

Best bet for a 5-speed in our trucks would be a nv3500 out of a 90's model truck.

Not really gaining much with the nv3500 IMO. nv3500 5th gear .073 while the 4th in a 465 is 1.0

I'd just go 465 IMO

The overdrive in the 700r4 is only .070 so I think the nv3500 would be a good replacement for a 700r4.

Yeah, the harcore that actually drive their junk across country to wheel it in Moab...

One trip down to Moab and back cured me of my love for the SM 465. OD FTW!

I could never do that. For one it wouldn't come back in the same shape as it left with. I like to break things :doah:

I broke stuff before the Bash officially started (unofficial Friday wheeling). Got that fixed sat morning, then broke stuff again on Pritchett. Got that fixed, wheeled some more and drove home.

Not that big a deal...the sh!tty part was watching my new TSL's wear down before my eyes and listening to a 6.2 diesel turn at 2600 rpm for hours on end (and no stereo)

Screw that...come to the Bash and wheel like a man!! :haha:

No guts, no glory d00d!!

I wouldnt be afraid of the drive, what would scare me is desrtoying something expensive 5000 miles from home.
