Cleaning ALuminum Wheels?

Hey i found a set of aluminum hurricane wheels in my yard. they had 33x12.5 on them and looked realy good on my truck. (Im gonna get new tires) but the wheels have mold and stuff on them. Do you guys have any clue as to what the best way to clean them would be?

I bought a mothers powerball today for my sled, I'll let you know what I think of it tommorrow. It goes on a drill and is supposed to be able to get into little nooks and crannies.

I have always liked this stuff: Magic Mix Metal Polish

It is easy to use and gives a nice polish with just a terry cloth... You can usually find it in truck stops.

If you can't find anything strong enough at an auto parts store try marine/boat supply places

if they are pollished rims and need a cleaning and repollishing, after being repollished, use ZOOPS SEAL by ZOOPS. its a pad that has a compound that they claim will keep a pollished rim pollished for three years without having to be touched up in that time frame. my bud used them and liked them so much that he started selling them out of his street rod shop, they are a dealler for ZOOPS.

Eagle etching wheel cleaner works great on cast wheels. Pep Boys has it.

That powerbal is a piece of junk IMO. The polish to be used with it is too diluted to be effective. I'll stick to the OG Mothers polish in paste form and good 'ol hand rubbing.. I just polished out 2 sets of Mickry Thompson wheels and I got thru 1 wheel before I gave up on the powerball, did the rest by hand. Lotsa work but better results..

this is what I would recomend... use acid use a polisher on them(or have it done cost $100 around here) then they will look brand new then you can use a hand polish every few weeks
