I have a transfer tank for the back of a truck that need to be cleaned out on the inside. It sat for a long time. what have yall used for good result??

Are you cleaning residue or scale?

For scale, (I've never done it but...) I've always heard gravel works good. Throw a bucket worth inside and shake / roll the crap out of it. Have patience while getting it back out. :D

Instead of gravel, use a length of heavy chain. I saw it used once on one of those restoration shows, (can't remember which one), and it made sense to me.

chain sounds like a good idea:D

i read online about using muriatic acid. sounds like it would work good

We use muriatic acid to clean gas tanks. Be careful though, as it might cause it to leak if there are any thin spots. But otherwise, it works AWESOME.

One other thing- the acid works so good that if yuo leave it to air dry, the tank will start to rust immediately. If you dont want this to happen, put some water in it.
