Since I`m only 18 and living at home, I`m limited to my own "man space". No garage in the driveway, just a little 8x6 shed, with my tool box, and a bunch of other junk. So, I decided to clean up my grandpas shop he had in the basement.

They had a flood a while back, so there was some damaged stuff in there. Have about 4 decent sized boxes, about 3 trash bags, and a barrel full of junk that was down there. I unloaded some of the shopsmith stuff onto my buddys dad, who deserves it for all the help he`s giving me. Right now theres a nice drill press and a table saw down there, along a router table, and about three work benches.

I needed to clean the place up so I could have the proper workplace to start the big fiberglass project I`m doing with my truck. Now I have 1 table full of junk, one to fiber glass one, and one to have my materials all set up. Should go along alot smoother as opposed to having it all set up on the basement floor.

I also set up two shelving units to put my spare parts on. Worked out pretty good. Next thing to do is to bring my tool box back down there, and the rest of my spare parts.

I don`t have a before pic, but I`ll definitely get some after pics to show the progress I`ve made down there.

EDIT: Found a picture that shows one corner in the shop. What a mess!

Good luck man. I just started cleaning up the garage here at the house. My family just moved so our new two car garage is packed with boxes and boxes of stuff.

what the hell are ya doing with your swaybar ben?
That was a while back, I put new poly bushings in I got from ORD.

Turned out pretty good. Finished it all up, and even had enough time to get a head start on my glass project!

Here`s some pics! Don`t ask, I`m not sure why my grandfather painted the walls and work benches:D

TRASH!

Be careful what you throw out , sometimes junk can be useful . I made my tranny cooler mounts out of junk and hardware I had lying around :thumb:

Do you play crazy carnival music when you work in there?? That would be crazy or wicked scary!

remember that zebra gum.

Aint that the truth!

I`m actually in the process of mounting my tranny cooler and filter kit too. And after reading your comment, I went down and looked around in some of the old junk/hardware that was down there. On the bottom of one of the workbenches, there were a few pieces of aluminum, flat pieces, like 1/8 thick, by 1", by about 3 feet. I said to myself, PERFECT! Called my grandpa up to see if he was saving them for something, and he said he just got those when he fixed our old storm door in the basement, and told me I could have them! Told him thanks, and that they`ll be perfect to mount my tranny cooler. Maybe I should look through some of the other junk I threw out:doah:
