clear d60 cover

Cleargearz covers have been around for 6 or 8 years but never caught on. I think the biggest reason is if you hit something it'll crush down against the ring which would chew a hole in it.

makes since to me. The point of a diff cover is to be beefy and strong, not plastic.

I'm diggin the concept. But like others have said, its just not practical for real use.

it would be cool for somthing like a ratrod or maybe even a showtruck, just not a wheeler

from their website.....

Built from Lexan, these covers are extremely strong and can take the abuse from rocks and boulders.

I highly doubt that.....

Sure they can. The rocks and boulders can say anything they want to the covers, call the covers names, make passing associations between the covers' mothers and various farm animals, and the covers will just sit there and take it.

Oh, not that kind of abuse? :dunno:

A good diff cover actually make the ring and pinion setup stronger, it adds rigidity to the housing and the deflection in the housing is primarily what causes ring and pinion failures.

i'd think maybe if they could take a good strong cover and add a decent size sight glass, sure that'd be ok, but i'd still be nervous as hell bout it.

They are going to blame that on the sub zero weather and that it was not with operation range!! :dunno:
