Anybody seen one of thier covers in person or have one
i am in the market for a cover and it would be cool to look instead of having to pull cover

what is everybody got for a cover how storng how much ?

I have them, but they are not installed as of yet.

The quality in rather nice. The bolt retaining ring is silver powder coated & the bolts are cad plated.

Supposedly very strong, but time will tell. I got mine at Summit Racing.

kinda pointless unless you change your diff fluid everytime it starts to look like a milkshake

how much did you pay how strong do they really seem like hit a rock Or what?

If they stayed like this and didn't cloud up it would be ok.

If I were going to buy a new cover I would get one from Kid Jeffro :D

I have a crane diff cover and it is probably the strongest one you can buy. I think they are about $200 though (I didn't buy mine).

from what I remember, the Clear Gearz covers are pretty spendy.

in the diff cover test in 4WOR, they ran over the covers with a dozer and smashed them with the bucket. the clear gears got scratched and dented to hell, but they said there were no holes and it probably wouldnt have happened if there was a ring gear behind it.

here's a pic of a member from the gmfullsize.com forum.

he said thats what it looked like a year after installation.

that looks awsome.. It would be very useful for monitoring diff parts and oil quality. Guess I will add it to my evergrowing wish list :p:

If you want something beef, check out GreatLakes Offroad diff covers. 1/2 thick mounting flang, and 1/4 thick plate. I got the one with the diamond plate. It was 150 shipped. The others he says, are like 110 shipped i believe..

i like the DIY4X one

That is the baddest diff cover on the market. I saw Lepers cover in person and it's beefy to say the least. I do like the clear gearz idea though. After seeing a diff get ruined by water getting inside, it would be nice to be able to monitor your fluid level/quality without popping the cover. If they could make it as strong as a 1/4" steel cover I might get one.

I got my new D60 cover from Great Lakes Offroad a few days back. It is the most bad ass cover you can get. It has a 1/2" thick mounting flange, its countersunk for button-head screws so nothing sticks out to get hung up on... the rest of the cover is made from 1/4" thick steel, fully welded... and then the center of the cover is plated with a bent/welded piece of 1/2" thick steel. The area that is most likely to get hit by rocks is therefore 3/4" thick. The fill plug is also countersunk by use of a 1/2" thick steel ring welded around it. Serious beef. I really think that if my K5 was to get launched towards the sun, the very last things to vaporize would be that diff cover and my WFO steering arms. ;)

sorry for the crappy pic. At any rate, the counter sinking and extra 1/2" plating are extra options. You can get the standard GLO cover for $110 shipped. I have one on my ff14b, it works great. For my D60 I wanted the ultimate cover though, so I went with all the extras. Cost $140 shipped. IMO its the beefiest cover you can get at any price.
