This is kinda a cut and paste from my pirate thread but seems how there is more traffic and squarebodies here I figured I may get more info/pics

Thinking of clocking my tcase flat or mostly flat. Anything other then the several inches it hangs down. I have been seeing a bunch of those clocking plates being sold.

I'm wondering how there working out for those who have done it?Specifically with a single case...

How bad does the drive line angle suck with xx* clocked?

I did push the trans and t case up with the latest cross member, but after the last few wheelin trips Ill need to rebuild it again as its bent/dented.

Doubler is in the future, but funds dont permit it at the moment.

56's front springs
th400 fig8 205
1350 single u joints with jereel yokes at both ends (deep mouth)

Or should I just build 3-4 cross members at a time...

Yes I searched here somewhat, pirate, google. Maybe I did it wrong:what::D

As always Pics help Thanks in advance

I assume you have a round pattern 205

I have helped guys clock a couple almost flat. I don't think you can get flat unless you ditch the passenger seat. Cause that's the area it goes.

Front driveshaft is awful. It's like running another 3" of lift but it's doable. We always did driveshafts after the fact.

Theres shifter issues with the 205 I never helped fix that end of stuff

No 8th line down says figure 8.

Im not scared of sheet metal work or cutting.

I might go with cable shifters but I have jbcustom fabs twin stick shifters

Figure 8.

Can it be clocked just a bit?

Yah sometimes I skim.

I don't think I have ever seen a clocking ring for a figure 8

Yah I googled it :D

All of my info still applies. Clocking flat is hard to do.

But clocking mostly flat is easy.

In any case I think I would get the rear mount to build a crossmember off of.

I would also mod the support rod from the trans to t case to fit.

T case is supported near the rear output cross memeber is 100% tube
There is also no support rod

With the t case hanging down as far as it does any flatness I can get out of it is ideal

Yah even a little helps I mean if you have 35s and clock it 2" up its like going to a 39" tire

42s and 4" here. I love having that slightly more clearance. I just might raise my entire drivetrain and cut and reweld my doubler to go dead flat. I don't wanna flip my 203
