I normally only search thread titles, so here is a title that will hopefully help others down the road. I did not find anything under clocking winch, clock winch, clock warn, turning winch, etc. I was also amazed I found nothing on youtube or google videos, which happens to show mostly youtube. :doah:

So, if anyone has picture explanation of clocking a winch, that would be awesome, or better yet, be the first person to put it into video....:D Like a few other members, I got the Warn VR12000 from Amazon. It comes feet down and I want feet forward. So, not sure how to go about doing that. I'm good at taking stuff apart and figuring things out, but really:doah:...... we don't have this explained on the boards yet? :dunno: at least title searchable

It is so easy you will kick yourself. See those cap screws on the end where the free spool lever is? Pull those out, slide the end off, rotate to desired location, slide back on and reinstall the screws. I know with my M10000 I was not able to get the freespool lever completely vertical in the feet forward position. At least with my winch I didn't have to do anything with the motor side, I was easily able to adjust the solenoid pack wiring and rotate it instead of the motor.

Yep. Super easy. I did it with my XRC 12,000. It's somewhere in my build thread. Pull the ends off, rotate and tighten bolts. I also re greased it.

Depends on which winch you have. I kicked myself pretty hard when I finally figured out how to do it on my XRC10. Stupid easy!

Here is the smittybuilt / tmax instructions. While I was clocking my xrc, I found a TMAXX casting stamp on the inside.

I also ordered the same winch and need it mounted feet forward. Had to call warn cause the baseplate on the control box was bent (they're sending a new one out) but asked the guy about clocking it, he said take out the 10 allen bolts, pull it out a quater inch and rotate. He did say though that the bolts will only go back in every other hole
