Those that have clocked the NP208 "up", any tips on reworking the selector linkage? As for the case brace, is it as simple as heat and bend the motor end, and grind the slots on the T-case end, if needed? I believe I've already figured-out the cross member, D-shaft and exhaust. This mod is to bring the case up to "flush" with bottom of the frame rails, but I'm not enclosing the T-case with a plate. If I'm that close to hi-center, I'll want spotters.:haha:
Thanks

The gear selector required no additional modification. Just adjust it in, or out, as needed. Throw out the brace.

when i had my 208 clocked, i had to lengthen the rod, it was about 1.5" to short. but i had a wierd combo, clocked all the way up with no body lift and the tranny moved 1" to the left, all that caused it to be too short. the rod was pointing way up and to the left. a body lift would have helped here.

heres some more tips. check out this thread http://www.offroad-tech.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2398&page=1&pp=20 the last couple of pages has good info on to to get rid of the cv front shaft. and were did you get your clocking rig from? if it was from greatlaked offroad I would suggest getting some longer bolts ask jays68yak about it.

about the other stuff I have know Idea.
Thanks Justin. Yeah its a GLOR. I was in on that thread, I revisited and I don't see longer bolts??
Why would you want to lose the CV?

Thanks Doug. Pretty cool about the selector. Brace stays; too many broken castings littered all over CK5.

Thanks TJ. Everything else being stock, sounds like the slots will have enough adjustment, I'll bend the front end to point it in the right direction.

well the bolts that come with the GLO ring are way to short. Jays68yak transfer came off the tranny on an trail in hollister. Btw I bought some longer bolts from mcmastercarr but they only sell them by 25 so if ya need some pm with your address and I'll send them out to you. as for the Cv it's going to bind on you when it flexes out but then again you have a low lift so you should be good. just cleareance the cv and you should be fine.

Good info here as I am getting ready to do this soon as well. With the removing of the CV. Why would you remove the Cv and go to a single joint? If the CV is binding on droop wouldn't a single joint be worse? Has th longer bolts thing been addressed with GLO? I know about Jay's coming apart, and I heard HD-10's (basketcatch19 on NCBD/SCBD) case came loose there this weekend at the hammers. I know he just did the GLO clocking ring a while back as well.

without a CV you can run a little longer front driveshaft so that helps with the angles. also the stock CV is not ment to have much angle on it, you will actually have more angle with a single joint than the stock CV.

I have know Idea if the bolts have been addressed by GLO. after seeing the pics of jays coming apart cause the bolts were to short that scared me enough to hunt down those bolts.

GLO bolts to the left and the mcmastercar bolts to the right

So you have 1"? I put the question here for the gang, and I'll PM too.

If anyone out there received a clocking ring from us and the bolts were only an 1" long let me know and we will send out new ones at no charge. We have addressed this issue and taken care of it. There are approx 2 dozen of these out there with the short bolts. Thanks Shawn
