club run possibility.

Depends if I get the burb back together. Front axle is still blown. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

if I can get me a job here soon enough, and finish the 454 build, and get a transmission behind it that'll actually stand up to the 460 odd HP, then I'm all over it. Late february might work, although there's still a chance of snow/ice, and I most likely won't have my truck done up by then. I really hope I get this job, and if not, then I'm really hoping a samaritan of some sort plays sandy claws, and sends me an NV4500 stuck to a doubler...

a D60 front wouldn;t be too bad, but <shrug> can't have it all.

Moab sounds good to me, we just got back and the burb worked pretty good. I was considering doing a little easier run for EJS week to bring in some milder vehicles, maybe that's a good time to do it?
Really any other time works well too since the 'burb is one vehicle I should have in running, ready to go condition most of the time.
Timing is pretty simple, not past Mem. Day and not before Labor day. I've been down there in the summer and sometimes it's not terrible but it's always possible to hit triple digits which cuts down on the fun factor.
If it's during EJS I might be able to drum up some magazine coverage, I know a couple guys at the mags that could be interested.

Some of the SoCal and NorCal Big Dawgs are planning on trying the Rubicon again in August. I'm gathering parts right now to get the Sub ready. Anyone else interested? Any chance you can put a bug in a magazines ear about the trip?

Around easter would be great! I should have the 8lug stuff in, new motor, and 36/12.50 Hummer tires by then...I hope, otherwise I'll be 10 bolts and 35's.

i start colledge on april 28th so easter would be a no-go for me, /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif i gotta be in phoenix on the 18th or 19th. early april would be fine.

I can get in touch with the right guys at the mags. Is there a chance of taking a sub through the 'con clean? I'm all for hard trails but my sub is specifically not for trails like that. That's why I have Wally.
I really want to come out to the 'con at some point and getting in some K5 club time and some mag coverage would really help justify the time away from here.

I think damage it likely for every Sub. I'm working on some armor right now. Most of the short wheelbase guys (Jeeps and Yota's) don't even want the Sub out there. It's just adding more fuel to my fire. /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif Some of our K5's went out there this year and learned how bad the Con can be.
